It is Google's mail service. You can access it via web or POP3. gmail's signature feature is essentially infinite storage for all your emails forever. Beware, though, that this means that all gmail users have all their emails stored on Google's servers forever. No expectations of privacy. If you use POP3, gmail gives you the option of deleting incoming mail from their servers at the time you POP the messages to your computer. But I wouldn't trust them not to keep a copy. Plus all your outgoing messages stay on their servers until you delete them.





All that said, I still use gmail. I just make sure to delete everything often.
