How to edit labels in gmail?
There are two ways to edit a label name.
You can:
1. Click Edit labels at the bottom of your Labels list.
2. Click rename next to the label you want to edit.
3. Enter the new label name, and click OK.
Or, you can:
1. Click the square to the right of a label in your Labels list. A color palette opens.
2. Select Edit name at the bottom of the palette.
3. Enter the new label name, and click OK.
All the messages categorized under your old label name are now categorized under your new label. And, if the label you've edited is part of a filter, Gmail automatically updates your filter settings so new messages are categorized with the new label's name.

as far as i know yahoo has beta mail... you can still have the old version.. if you like..there is no beta gmail or beta hotmail.

Firefox Gmail Serial Number problem?
Today all of a sudden i cant seem to get through to gmail.com using firefox (works using IE) It tells me that my certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate thats already been issued, it also says, please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Can't go to any google site,(gmail, google) search engine keeps coming up. Help!!!?
Whenever I try to go to the google.com or mail.google.com, instead of the page loading, it will either say 'cannot find server' or it will pull up a search engine such as Ask.com with results for google.com or gmail. I have broadband, and every other site works fine. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know it isn't googles problem, or my ISP, because I have another computer sharing the same broadband connection and I can get on just fine. I think a setting is messed up with this computer, does anyone know how to fix this?

sounds like that there is malware or spyware in your computer. get a reliable anti-spyware soft ware (ad-aware should be good). Run in in safe mode then it should solve the prob. hope this helps=D!

Gmail on Blackberry Problems?
Whenever i send an email from my blackberry it sends the email to my blackberry as well. How do i stop this from happening. I saw some ppl said to go to the blackberry internet service site and filter it. Where do i find this site and how do i filter my email so I dont send emails to myself.

Well, when you send an email from your BB, Gmail thinks its a new email (it is new to the Gmail server..) so then it sends you a copy on your Blackberry since it doesn't know the difference between a new email and a new email to Gmail.

I have a gmail account. How do you do a forward to people? Once you click on the forward you have to addresses how do you bring up your address book to add the addresses? I can't seem to do this and sometimes I have to add loads of people and the only way I can do it is go through the alphabet so i don't miss anyone.

When you have loads of email addresses, it's usually better to add them to a group, and then you can forward your email to the group, and it will be forwarded to everyone in the group. Here's how:
To create a group for list mailing from existing contacts in Gmail:
* Select Contacts from the left side navigation bar in Gmail.
* Check all the contacts you want to add to the new list.
* Click the Add to group ... drop-down menu.
* Select New group ... from the menu.
(Or, to add the selected contacts to an existing group, select it instead.)
* Type the name by which you want the new address book group to go.
* Click OK.
Then when you have your email that you want to forward, click "Add Bcc" and type the name of the desired group in the Bcc: field.

Google has many different server clusters, the nearest one to me is in scenic The Dalles, Oregon. I imagine Gmail's servers are distributed throughout the world with some redundancy in case of failure.

Hi; There are two ways to get your gmail contacts in to Yahoo! mail contacts. One is to let Yahoo do it for you, but it can take up to 24 hours. The 2nd way is to do it yourself by exporting the contacts from gmail and importing them in to your Yahoo! account. I'll list both ways and let you decide. To havce Yahoo do it for you. Log in to Yahoo Mail! and In the upper right hand choose "Options" then select "Import Contacts". A new window appears with directions of what to do.
To it yourself, You export your gmail contacts list into a .CSV file (comma delimited), then you import that file to your Yahoo! Mail contacts like this:

I can access the internet but i cant access yahool mail or gmail in my unit. why? help please?
My internet is working, i can surf yahoo.com or google.com. when accessing the yahoo mail and entered the username and password - message is "page cannot be displayed". i am wondering why only the yahoo mail and gmail that are encoutering proble. i have tried checking for viruses or spyware, its negative.

I'm sorry, I don't completely understand what's happening. As I understand, you tried to send a message to a Gmail address and received a MailerDaemon notice. Is this correct? Beware, though, that this means that all gmail users have all their emails stored on Google's servers forever. No expectations of privacy. If you use POP3, gmail gives you the option of deleting incoming mail from their servers at the time you POP the messages to your computer. But I wouldn't trust them not to keep a copy. Plus all your outgoing messages stay on their servers until you delete them.
All that said, I still use gmail. I just make sure to delete everything often.

you cant change the excisting id of any mail provider.here yours is gmail.No one can change the id for the same account(you can change profile details passwords etc).so if u r so concerned you can create a new account

Gmail client on my Nokia 6133?
I've download the gmail client software but when I attempt to log in it says that the application does not have permissions. I would back out of the program, highlight the program, click options and the option to give access to the application is grayed out. I would also like to get Google Maps for mobile working and assume the same fix will work for that. I've seen, online, a few fixes although they made the browser not work or it was a sticky mess. Thank you in advance to anyone that has made this work.

What I did was go to Howard Forums and I found a thread "Step by step Idiots Guide to SEEM editing" which let me enable fuctions in my phone that were disabled by the cell provider (Bluetooth file transfer, USB file transfer, ect) I hope this will help you

When I try and send a joke forward to someone, gmail only sends part of the message, the part missing is always the joke part with the pictures. Gmail on Blackberry Problems?
Whenever i send an email from my blackberry it sends the email to my blackberry as well. How do i stop this from happening. I saw some ppl said to go to the blackberry internet service site and filter it. Where do i find this site and how do i filter my email so I dont send emails to myself.

Well, when you send an email from your BB, Gmail thinks its a new email (it is new to the Gmail server..) so then it sends you a copy on your Blackberry since it doesn't know the difference between a new email and a new email to Gmail.

It is possible someone could have stolen your password and if that has happened it is possible some chanced your security question. I would contact the people at google and tell them your account may have been comprised they are the only ones that can help you get it back.

Check your hosts file in:
C\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc
Open with Notepad
Below all the introductory text, it should have one line in it that says:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Any other lines will mean that that domain is being blocked, for example, in mine it read:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 google.com
127.0.0.1 www.google.com
127.0.0.1 other website example
127.0.0.1 other website example
DELETE all the extra lines, leaving ONLY the first one:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Apparently you MUST leave at least that first line.

If you decide that you don't need your Gmail address anymore, and you're sure you won't want your username in the future, you can simply remove Gmail from your Google Account. Here's how:
Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
Open the Accounts tab.

I personally like gmail...but its all preference. It depends on what you want to use it for. A lot of bussinessmen use Yahoo because Gmail is actually still a beta version.
But i like gmail because of its Gtalk, the unlimited space, its simple design, the blogger accounts and all of that good stuff. i mean you could get both and see which one you like better...

No you can't. I have tried but there is no possible way.

Gmail client on my Nokia 6133?
I've download the gmail client software but when I attempt to log in it says that the application does not have permissions. I would back out of the program, highlight the program, click options and the option to give access to the application is grayed out. I would also like to get Google Maps for mobile working and assume the same fix will work for that. I've seen, online, a few fixes although they made the browser not work or it was a sticky mess. Thank you in advance to anyone that has made this work.

Ok I am assuming that you are haveing problems with functions on your phone being disabled. What I did was go to Howard Forums and I found a thread "Step by step Idiots Guide to SEEM editing" which let me enable fuctions in my phone that were disabled by the cell provider (Bluetooth file transfer, USB file transfer, ect) I hope this will help you

They do one of the most dumb things ever, they block java applications (such as google maps and gmail) you would have to get the firmware flashed and upgraded to the nokia. There is no DIY to do this (trust me, I've tried) your best bet is www.iunlock.com

When I try and send a joke forward to someone, gmail only sends part of the message, the part missing is always the joke part with the pictures. I checked my settings and clicked whatever I could to try and see but nothing is working. I was wondering if its in my settings or its just a Gmail problem. Any help with this would be great!

no. i have in the past, but usually i log off, log back on, and it's good. do you have a lot of emails in your inbox? sometimes this can be the problem. just give your server a second, and retry. best of luck!

cut and paste it....to do this..place yopu cursor at the beginning of the page you want to copy....point and press your mouse and drag it down. While doing this you will notice that it is being highlighted. when you reach the bottom press ATRL then click letter C. You now have copied it.
To paste it onto your "compose" page or folder, press CTRL again but this time click letter V. tp paste it.
Should have now the the entire page you highlighted on the page you are composing on

I have an old Gmail account that I need to recover because of some import chats and emails. About a year ago I created a new one, and forgot the password for this email address. The secondary account for my original is a Road Runner email account, that was deleted. Now I can't remember the answer to my recovery question, so is there anything I can do? D:
