Gmail or .Mac?

I am planning on getting a MacBook, and I want to know if I should keep my Gmail account or I should open a .Mac account. Thanks.

Well, Gmail is free and you get a calendar,music, photos, and a lot of other stuff. But a .Mac account can do some more stuff too. It'll be really easy to use with a mac. You can access it from a different mac (if you get a MacBook) and get all your contact info, photos, dates, etc. or start a website using iWeb. This is a toughy but if you are willing to pay and want some features and a little easy use on the mac, get a .mac. if you just want a little less, get a Gmail
Reply:While I don't know any specifics a friend of mine has been having problems with .mac a lot. And after two years she's had to pay for the service.





I've yet to ever have a problem with Gmail. And free is always good.

Reply:I would say keep the gmail account, you can check your mail from any computer (you may be able to do this with a mac account too, but Im not sure), you dont have to go through the hassle of telling everyone that your email has changed, you dont have to transfer all your adresses, and in case anything ever happens and you switch to a PC you wont have to go through the whole process agian....
Reply:I have a macbook, and I actually have a yahoo email account, and i synced it up with imail. It's like 20$ a year for your yahoo account to work with it, but totally worth it.





as for a .mac account...i really think gmail is much easier. Plus, i believe you can sync up your gmail account with imail for free!
