Why is Gmail so bad?

What are the dangers of gmail? why does it have such a bad reputation? Thanks so much for all answers!

Why is Gmail so bad?
Um. Gmail is great. I've only heard good things about it.
Reply:Gmail is not bad at all. It has a lot of very good functions and a good customizable spam filter. I am even able to receive mail from all my other email adresses and send mail as other mail adresses from only one account. It even allows you to download emails using pop from other emails (hotmail, yahoo etc..) and the best of all I have over 6GB of storage

Reply:gmail is not popular thats the only problem.....if it became as popular as hotmail then it would be used by everyone.....

Reply:I have yet to hear real bad stuff about Gmail. The only thing I've ever heard is how people don't like the way it keeps each email as a conversations and they think it reads their email. Many email services scan emails, how would they know what is spam or not.





Gmail has a lot of good qualities...space, spam filter, built in chat, you can search your email, and offers POP3/IMAP.
Reply:I just recently signed up for Gmail, so i can use it for stuff i send for so i can keep it separate from my other email account that i use for friends and family.





I did not know it had a bad rep. many ppl recommended it, so i signed up. so far i haven't had any problems, other than i find it slow to load up, and it's hard to maneuver around in (i'm used to incredimail and outlook). plus the ads drive me nuts.

its a bit boring, but I suppose that most people are going to rather yahoo, hotmail or just their own outlook express.

There are some concerns about the privacy implications of Google's software looking for keywords in your email to determine what adverts to show you, but that's the only thing people have really been shouting about (and not so much for the last couple of years).





Personally, I avoid it as I really dislike its user interface, and I prefer not having the mail quota they impose.
Reply:gmail is the best thing to ever happen to email. period.





It gives you a huge and growing storage limit (they are constantly raising it. I never even delete an email unless it has an attachment), It has search functions that work killer. I can almost always conjure up an email that I was sent a year ago in seconds when I want it. It's got a 20mb file attachment limit. Gmail easily works with your outlook and/or outlook express if you want, although I much prefer gmail notifier to let me know whenever I've got mail, and gmail definitely has the best spam filter I've ever used built in.





I love it. I've tried them all and gmail can't be beat.
Reply:I'd love to know what you've heard. It's got an extremely large inbox, which it did long before Yahoo! or MSN ever considered it without making you pay. It's also got the same features as all the big ones.





Personally, I really like it. That being said I can't stand Yahoo! Mail and I think Hotmail is one of the worst UIs for any mail client ever, so that might have something to do with it
