i pull up my gmail and all i see is this little square that has all my email stuff. if i click on older version it works fine. How do i fix it?????

Not sure if this is the same thing as what your describing but I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. The problem was witch Google. The following link shows a screenshot of the problem and my workaround along with a link to the Google support thread:
