I just got my laptop for college and of course I wan to protect my work in case my laptop is stolen/damaged. I know about the programs that allow you to use a gmail account as an off site hard drive. Now I would like to make it so that some of my file folders are automatically uploaded into this gmail folder every night. I have already tried several programs and they claim that they can not see or access the gmail drive. I was wondering if anyone knows of a program built for this or of a way to make these other programs understand how to access the drive.
Gmail File backup program?
I might learn something myself here. I though GMail was an email service. You could send yourself emails with all your files as attachments. That would put them in your Gmail folder for safe keeping. It sounds like the way to go, but maybe there are other ways I don't know about. You have to be logged on to the Internet of course.
Google will be bringing out online hard drives next year, but I'm not sure they have them now. Try my idea, it will work.
